This Decree enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Decree approves and implements, in waters under Capeverdian jurisdiction, the International Code for the Security of Ships and Port Facilities. The Code, consisting of two Parts, regulates the security on board during navigation and the functioning and exploitation of ports under the jurisdiction of Cape Verde. It establishes requirements to be fulfilled for: safety of life at sea; responsibilities of contracting governments; ship and port security plan; training, drills and exercises on ship security; port facility security; verification and certification for ships and ports, etc.
