Abstract

This General Technical Regulation sets forth requirements for safety of fat-and-oil products with a view of protection of human health and life, and also environment against harm. The aforesaid requirements shall be applicable to food and non-alimentary products contained in the Annex 1. Oils depending upon oilseeds shall be classified in accordance with the tables contained in the Annexes 1 and 2. Technical requirements shall not be applicable to fat-and-oil products manufactured in the process of non-industrial processes. Fat-and-oil products must comply with sanitary rules, regulations and hygienic requirements for which compliance is mandatory in the process of manufacturing, packaging, storage, transportation, release into circulation and disposal (re-processing). Indices for toxicity, maximum allowable limits of residues of radionuclides, pesticides and other chemical agents are inserted in the Annexes 4-8. Microbiological indices in alimentary fat-and-oil products are specified in the Annex 9. Non-alimentary fat-and-oil products must comply with allowable levels of safety indices specified in the Annex 10. General Technical Regulation establishes mandatory requirements for manufacturing, packaging, labelling, storage, transportation, return to the manufacturer, disposal, release into circulation, traceability and identification, and assessment of compliance of fat-and-oil products.
