Abstract This Decree creates the National Park of "Tijuca" within the State of Rio de Janeiro (originally called National Park of "Rio de Janeiro"). It consists of 7 articles establishing the aforementioned protected area in order to protect and preserve its endemic ecosystem and habitat (in particular Atlantic Rain forest and endangered animal species). Geographical limits are specified in the text. Control and management shall be under the competence of the Brazilian Institution for Forestry Development - IBDF.
