Abstract

The commodities manufactured from polymeric and other synthetic materials, destined for contacting foodstuffs, must not emit hazardous to human health substances exceeding maximum residue limits and causing carcinogenic, mutagenic, embryotoxic, terratogenic, allergenic and other ultimate effects. MRL (mg/lt) indices shall be the main criteria for carrying out sanitary and chemical testing of the products destined for contacting foodstuffs which humidity index must not exceed fifteen percent. In the process of evaluation of the packaging materials for infant food it shall be taken into consideration that the utilization of hazardous substances and materials classified as such by the state standards system is prohibited except for cases authorized by the Ministry of Public Health.
