This Decree enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Decree, consisting of 8 articles and two Annexes, establishes as an Environmental Protection Area (APA) the marine area between the Maracaípe River estuary, in the municipality of Ipojuca, and the boundaries of the APA of Guadalupe and the APA Costa dos Corais, within the municipality of Tamandaré, on the South Coast of the State of Pernambuco. Under the name of the Marine Environmental Protection Area of ​​the Serrambi Reefs (APA MAR Recife Serrambi), it is declared as a Conservation Area and is inserted in the continental shelf of the south coast of Pernambuco, covering the territorial sea within the municipalities of Ipojuca, Sirinhaém, Rio Formoso and Tamandaré, according to geographical limits set out in Annexes I and II. The managing organ of APA MAR Recife Serrambi is the State Environmental Agency (CPRH). The objectives of the APA MAR Recife Serrambi aim at: protecting biodiversity from coastal and marine environments, with an emphasis on endemic, rare and endangered species, considering their ecosystemic characteristics and dynamics; guaranteeing the conservation of the reef environment, with its fauna, flora, geological formation and ecosystem functions; ensuring connectivity between the different environments, aiming at biodiversity conservation, recovery of fish stocks and maintenance of environmental and ecosystem services; ordering the various uses of the coastal and marine environments, considering fishing, nautical activities, management of areas, tourism and other socioeconomic activities, making them compatible with environmental conservation; strengthening artisanal fishing and sustainable tourism, encouraging the sustainable management of natural resources and community-based tourism; and ensuring the preservation of coastal and marine environments.
