Abstract This Decree consisting of 7 articles aims at updating the Law of 2006 by: substituting the name of General Institution for Marine Ports with Ports and Maritime Affairs and entrusting the responsibility to the Minister of Finance. Together with the free zones available for goods, are introduced logistic areas, in the meaning of areas engaged in service support activities for goods then re-shipped or exported to the inside or outside the Kingdom, with the establishment of necessary to engage in those activities. In art.4 are added, among tasks of this Institution: it will be representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain in all forums, international organizations and regional bodies related to maritime transport, ports or maritime navigation and counselor at national level for all agencies concerned in these fields. The new Decree also strengthens penalties for violations of this Law.
