Abstract

The Government, in order to further increase the efficiency of research in water management in Khorezm region, proper planning of water resources, the widespread introduction of advanced scientific technologies, including innovative and resource-saving irrigation technologies in the specific soil and climatic conditions of the region, and scientific research on water issues under the Cabinet of Ministers, to improve the activities of the research center, decrees as follows: (a) to allocate funds from additional sources of the local budget of Khorezm region in 2021 to cover additional costs for the maintenance of the Center and the purchase of equipment and modern laboratory equipment for the newly established research laboratories; and (b) to lease of up to 10.0 hectares of irrigated land from vacant and reserved lands for research and experiments. Scientific Research Center of Water Problems shall perform the following tasks: (a) study and research activities aimed at rational use of water resources and the widespread introduction of resource-saving irrigation technologies; (b) digital and innovative technologies in the rational management and accounting of water resources; (c) introduction of drip, rain, discrete and underground irrigation technologies for agricultural crops, new methods and technologies in conditions of water scarcity, including information and communication technologies and other innovative technologies; and (d) strengthening cooperation with water management organizations and agricultural producers, increasing the efficiency of research.
