Abstract Considering the objectives and goals set forth in the Social Territories Programme, established by Decree 42.912 of 2 March 2017; this Decree, creates a food security action within the framework of the Social Territories Programme. It consists of the distribution of food resources to families living in extreme poverty, in the modality of provision of Basic Social Protection of a supplementary and temporary nature, non-monetary, integral part of the guarantees of the Unique System of Social Assistance (SUAS), based on the principles of citizenship and solidarity and social and human rights. The benefits will be assured with resources provided for in the Annual Budget Law (LOA) and will be provided in the form of consumer goods or other means of assistance. Only families living in extreme poverty residing in the Municipality and registered in the Social Territories, will be eligible to receive the benefit of this Decree.
