Abstract

This amendment concerns the labeling of food in relation with indications of the use of genetic engineering in the production of such food. It is prohibited to act in contravention of aricles 2 and 4 of the Commission Regulation 50/2000 on the labelling of foodstuffs and food ingredients containing additives and flavourings that have been genetically modified or have been produced from genetically modified organisms. This prohibition was previously contained in the temporary Decree Genetically Modified Aromas and Additives, which is revoked at the date of entry into force of the present Decree.
