Abstract This Decree approves the Statute of the Council for Policy of Energy (CEPE), created by Law No. 6.878. The Statute, consisting of 5 Chapters, specifies composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Council, which is entitled to assist in designing policies and baselines on energy. CEPE is responsible for: performing activities as consulting and avisory board of the State Government of Alagoas on Energy sector; promoting interaction between governmental action and productive sector, entities and civil society organizations, in order to optimize the rational exploitation of local energetic resources. The Decree is divided as follows: Objectives and competencies (Chap. I); Administrative organization (Chap. II); Duties (Chap. III); Functioning (Chap. IV); Final provisions (Chap. V).
