This Decree enters into force on 3 May 2010.
Abstract

This Decree validates Sanitary rules, regulations and hygienic requirements “Hygienic requirements for projecting and operation of nuclear plants” aimed at protection of public health in case of the outbreak of nuclear disaster. It shall be applicable to provisions ensuring radiation safety of staff of nuclear plants, population and environment (radiation impact) at nuclear plants equipped with VVER-type reactors. Radiation safety shall be ensured by application of complex special arrangements, including control over protective barriers along the routes of spreading of ionizing radiation, localization of sources of ionizing radiation and staff and population regular protective measures applicable in the course of regular operation of nuclear plant and in case of the outbreak of nuclear disaster.
