Abstract

The Directorate of Fisheries shall create a register for the keeping of data collected with satellite-tracking systems. This register shall be used by the Directorate and the coast guard for the control of activities of fishing vessels, and may also be used in order to fulfil international control obligations of Norway. The register contains information on activities of Norwegian vessels present in Norwegian and foreign waters and on the high seas and foreign vessels present in the Norwegian economic zone and fisheries zone around Jan Mayen. Information contained in the register may be surrendered exclusively for reasons stated in article 7. (12 articles)
