Abstract

This Decree approves the Regulation for Cotton Cultivation. The Regulation, consisting of 61 articles divided into eight Chapters and nine Annexes, establishes the rules for the production, marketing and industrialization of cotton and its byproducts within national territory. It applies to the production, marketing of seed cotton, transport, storage, ginning, sorting and marketing of fiber, such as fiber industrialization and cotton byproducts. The Decree is divided as follows: General provisions (Chap. I); Cotton Operators and Areas of Promotion and Marketing of Cotton (Chap. II); Registration and Registration of Cotton Operators of Classes III to VII (Chap. III); Plans of Own Production and Projection of Cotton Development (Chap. IV); Technical Standards of Cotton Production (Chap. V); Marketing and Processing of Cotton (Chap. VI); Cotton Development Rate (Chap. VII); Infringements and Penalties (Chap. VIII). The Annexes lay down a glossary and specific models form to request the registration of Cotton Producers.
