Abstract

This Regulation defines the status, main tasks, functions, rights and liability, as well as the procedure for the organization of activities of the Inspectorate for protection and management of biodiversity and protected areas subordinated to the State Committee on Ecology and Environmental Protection. The main tasks of the Inspectorate shall be as follows: (a) implementation of state control over enforcement of legislation on environmental protection, rational management and reproduction of biological resources, and also protected areas and compliance therewith by state bodies, other organizations, natural and legal persons; (b) creation of necessary conditions for the existence, conservation of wild fauna and wild flora species, protection of populations and habitats thereof; (c) preservation of typical, unique, valuable natural objects and complexes, the genetic fund of plants and animals, prevention of negative impact of human activities on nature, monitoring of the natural environment related to wild flora and fauna; (d) keeping state register of wild flora and fauna species, protected areas, as well as state registration of nurseries for breeding and keeping wild animals, wild-growing plants, zoological and botanical collections.
