This Decree enters into force on the day of its publication.
Abstract

This Decree, consisting of 23 articles divided into four Chapters, creates the General Inspection of Mineral Resources and Energy (IGREME). IGREME carries out its activities throughout the national territory and has its headquarters in the City of Maputo. IGREME can create delegations at the provincial and district level, with the authorization of the Minister of ​​mineral resources and energy. The following are attributions of the General Inspection of Mineral Resources and Energy: a) Inspection and inspection of compliance with the Laws, Regulations and other guidelines approved by the Government in the scope of rational and sustainable exploitation of mineral, petroleum and energy resources; b) Conduct of inspections, investigations, inquiries and administrative audits to the organic units, subordinate and supervised institutions of the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy; c) Inspection and inspection of compliance with technical safety, hygiene and health and environmental protection standards as established by law, international conventions and good practices concerning the mineral resources and energy sector; d) Inspection of facilities for the production, transportation, storage, handling, distribution and commercialization of mineral resources, electric energy, hydrocarbons and fuel; e) Coordination with other institutions to protect, combat smuggling, illegal marketing, falsification, adulteration of mineral, oil and energy resources and vandalism of the respective infrastructures; (f) monitoring compliance with the standards for oil and gas spills in coordination with other institutions; g) Survey of news reports for contravention of mining, oil and energy legislation; etc.
