Abstract This Decree amends article 3 of the Statute of the Centre for Research of Marine and Coastal areas (CEPAM). CEPAM is under the supervision of the Minister regulating marine and inland waters. This supervision includes in particular the following activities: a) approving the Activity Plans and CEPAM budget, including periodic activity reports and accounts of the institution; b) suspending or revoking the acts of the institutional bodies and other legal instruments that violate the law; c) appointing the Director, the Deputy Director and the CEPAM's Administrator; d) appointing the members of the Scientific Council, after hearing the respective institutions; e) carrying out inquiries and investigations, where appropriate; f) approving the Rules and other institutional management tools; g) creating and abrogating local representations of CEPAM; h) approving all acts under the tutelage authorization lack.
