Abstract This Decree approves the Social Security Regulation. Social security comprises an integrated set of actions initiated by public authorities and society, aimed at ensuring the right to health, social security and social assistance. Social security is governed by the following principles and objectives: I - universality of participation in pension plans; II - uniformity and equivalence of benefits and services to urban and rural populations; III- selectivity and distribution in the provision of benefits, etc. Special insured persons are: residents of rural properties or nearby urban or rural areas who are producer, as the owner, usufructuary, possessor, settler, partner or sharecropper granted, borrower or rural tenant, who explores the rural activity: 1. agriculture in continuous or non-continuous area of up to four fiscal modules; or 2. rubber tapper or plant extractive worker in the sustainable collection and extraction of renewable natural resources, making these activities the main way of life; b) artisanal fishers or similar, who make fishing their usual profession or main livelihood.
