Abstract This Decree regulates processing, storage and labelling of infant food, establishes the modalities of food quality control and composition and ingredients of infant food. Infant food is classified in three categories: (a) breastfeeding products for the children from birth to 3 years of age; (b) preschool children at the age from 3 to 6 years; and (c) schoolchildren at the age from 6 to 14 years. Breastfeeding products, infant food and components thereof shall comply with food safety, food quality, hygienic, sanitary requirements and established nutritional value. Natural persons, legal persons and individual entrepreneurs carrying out manufacturing and trade of breastfeeding products and infant food shall be responsible for ensuring quality and safety thereof in conformity with the national legislation.
