Abstract This Decree promulgates the list of dangerous goods and prescribes the transportation of dangerous goods on inland waterways. "Dangerous goods" mean goods containing dangerous substances which may harm human life and health, environment, safety or national security. Dangerous goods are classified into classes and divisions (art. 4). Packaging, packing, labels and symbols of dangerous goods and danger placards shall comply with the Vietnamese standards and regulations of competent agencies (arts. 6 and 7). Vessels carrying dangerous goods shall have technical safety and environmental protection certificates (art. 10). Article 15 prescribes the competences to grant dangerous goods' transportation permits. The inland waterway navigation inspectorate, navigation waterway police and inland waterway port authorities shall conduct inspection of dangerous goods transportation on inland waterways.
