Abstract This Decree regulates fishing activity within the waters under Brazilian jurisdiction. It concerns fishing areas to be exploited laying down the requirements to be satisfied by national or foreign vessels in order to obtain a fishing licence. Quotas for fish species to be caught within Brazilian EEZ and Continental Shelf are reserved to national fishing vessels. It also establishes rational use and conservation policy of marine living resources.
