Abstract

This Veterinary and Sanitary Regulation on prevention, diagnosis and elimination of avian flu sets forth mandatory requirements for legal entities and natural persons, including individual entrepreneurs, for the safety of works and services related to the keeping, growing, breeding, transportation, trade, slaughtering, recycling, disposal, destruction of animal corpses, products of animal origin, production, procurement, storage, processing and movement of products of animal origin aimed at the prevention, diagnosis and elimination of avian flu. In order to prevent avian flu, legal and natural persons, including individual entrepreneurs are required to: (a) ensure the application of veterinary arrangements in keeping and growing poultry; (b) stock poultry farms only with healthy birds; (c) on request of specialists in veterinary medicine of the State Veterinary Service submit all the necessary information about the purchased poultry and create conditions for clinical examination and diagnostic studies thereof; (d) ensure the conduct of laboratory tests for avian flu; (e) regroup the poultry within the agricultural organization by coordination with veterinarians of this agricultural organization; (f) provide disinfection, deratization and disinsection of premises for poultry. It is necessary to keep records of the receipt and disposal of poultry or lots of eggs (date of incoming/outcoming, quantity, place of origin (receipt), date of collection and date of laying eggs on incubation and chick hatching).
