Land area shall be allotted to biosphere reserve on condition of permanent land tenure. Biosphere reserve shall carry out the following tasks: (a) conservation of natural and cultural heritage; (b) conservation and reproduction of biological diversity; (c) conservation and reproduction of landscapes; (d) fundamental and applied research; (f) environmental monitoring; (g) ecological education; and (h) ecological tourism.
