Decree No. 234 of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures to ensure uninterrupted supply of imported foodstuffs and feedstuffs under martial law”.

Abstract

This Decree establishes that for the period of martial law: (a) food market operators who due to military (combat) actions are unable to meet the requirements of Article 10 of the Law of Ukraine “On information for consumers on food products” on information on imported food products, may sell food products in the customs territory of Ukraine, information about which is presented in a language other than that of the state. In this case, the batches of these foodstuffs must be accompanied by mandatory food information in the state language. Such information shall be provided at the request of consumers by food market operators selling food products in the manner specified by such operators; (b) animal feedstuffs market operators who, as a result of military (combat) actions are unable to meet the requirements of the second paragraph of the first part of Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine "On Safety and Hygiene of Feedstuffs" on labeling of imported feedstuffs, may sell feed in the customs territory of Ukraine labelled in a language other than that of the state. In this case, the batches of these feedstuffs must be accompanied by labels on the feedstuffs in the state language. Such labeling shall be performed at the request of consumers by feed market operators selling feed in the manner specified by such operators; labeling of food and feedstuffs imported (shipped) to the customs territory of Ukraine as humanitarian aid may be set out in a language other than the state language; in the event of closure of the facilities due to hostilities, market operators may use leftover packaging or containers for food and feedstuffs for their intended purpose at other facilities producing similar foodstuffs and feedstuffs.
