Abstract

This Decree establishes: (a) arrangements for forest protection, the modalities and time periods for the performance thereof; and (b) the modalities of proclamation of emergency situations as a result of spreading of forest fires, pests and diseases. It shall be applicable also to protected areas. Forest trees infested by pests or infected, broken or damaged that can contribute to spreading of pests and diseases shall be subject to intermediate felling and sanitary felling. Forest cutting areas shall be cleared upon completion of felling and winter forest felling areas shall be cleared no later than 1 May of the current year. Proclamation of emergency situation in forests shall be done by State Commission on Emergency Situations upon proposal by State Forest Service.
