Foodstuffs subject to mandatory certification shall be classified into 11 groups of homogeneous products and shall include perishable commodities with an expiration date for storage or consumption of up to one month and long-storage commodities with an expiration date more than one month from production. Certification of foodstuffs shall be carried out by the authorized competent institution and shall: (a) ensure compliance of foodstuffs with food quality and safety requirements; and (b) obtain information on organoleptic qualities, chemical composition and identification of products.
