To this end, the Authority shall: (a) implement state policy on intellectual property rights; (b) provide legal protection for selection achievements; and (c) create a national database of patent documentation. In particular, the Authority shall: (a) prepare legislative proposals on rights to intellectual property and selection achievements; (b) examine applications for patents, trademarks, service marks, place of origin of commodities and selection achievements; (c) establish uniform requirements for patents, certificates and related documentation; and (d) register and issue patents.
