Forest service officials shall be at the same time inspectors of state forestry institutions. Forest service shall carry out the following functions: (a) forest protection and conservation, afforestation and reforestation, aerial protection of forests and forest fire prevention; (b) protection of forests against illegal logging and timber extraction, and also prevention of other infringements of forest legislation; (c) supervision over observance of timber extraction, grazing, haymaking and other forest uses by natural and legal persons; (d) protection of forests against pests and diseases; (e) supervision over forest fire prevention arrangements; (f) protection of wild fauna and biological diversity on the territory of forest fund; (g) enforcement of hunting regulations; and (h) carrying out biotechnological arrangements.
