Abstract This Decree establishes the biological closed season applicable to fishing activities in waters under the jurisdictional sovereignty of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau and also, throughout the so-called common exploitation zone between the Republic of Guinea-Bissau and the Republic of Senegal. It does not apply to the scientific research activities of the Common Management Agency (AGC) and the Centre for Applied Research (CIPA). The establishment of the Biological Closed Season aims to increase the regeneration capacity of species and the protection of marine ecosystems.
