Abstract

This Decree sets approximately safe concentration levels of pollutants in the water of waterbodies destined potable water supply and recreational water uses. The aforesaid norms shall be applicable to the whole national territory and shall set approximately safe levels of concentration of chemicals in groundwater and surface water sources used for centralized and non-centralized water supply to the population. It can also be used as one of the hygienic safety criteria for marine water uses by the population. These normative standards shall be valid for three-year periods.
