Category of protection shall be the totality of features for the classification of forests in conformity with the purposeful function thereof. The forests pertaining to the forest stock shall be classified as forests of the first and of the second categories. Forests of the protected areas (biosphere reserves, National Parks) and protection forests shall pertain to the first category.
