This Decree enters into force on 02 January 2006.
Abstract

This Decree establishes hygienic requirements for equipment and operation of beaches, terms and conditions for effluent waste water discharge, contents of chemical substances in waterbodies used for utility and potable water supply and recreational water uses. The scope of this Decree shall be to prevent surface water pollution that may cause deterioration of public health, spreading of infectious and parasitogenic diseases, and also deterioration of water management conditions. Discharge of industrial, agricultural, urban effluent waste water, and also organized discharge of storm waste water shall be prohibited to: (a) recreational waterbodies; (b) natural medicinal waterbodies; and (c) sanitary protection area of waterbodies destined for utility and potable water supply.
