The Ministry shall perform the following functions: (a) development and implementation of the unified state policy in the sphere of agriculture, including crop production, livestock and other branches of agricultural production; (b) development of programs and production forecasts to ensure effective use of the country's agricultural potential; (c) organization of monitoring of production and profitability of agricultural production, determination of development trends; (d) control over import, export, production and use of agricultural commodities; and (e) support of producers of agricultural commodities. The Ministry shall have the following powers: (a) formulation of short-, medium- and long-term agricultural development programs and plans; (b) monitoring of the current state of production and unit costs of agricultural and processing enterprises of agricultural commodities, profits and losses; (c) development of measures to promote food security and agricultural production; (d) attraction of foreign and domestic investments in agriculture; and (e) periodic preparation and publication of national reports and reports on the state of agriculture.
