However, section 2 allows a total catch by Norwegian vessels of 48.596 tons in the North Sea and in the Skagerrak on the seaward side of the baseline. A catch quota shall be allocated in accordance with the kind of the participating vessel. Specified amounts may be caught with "conventional" gear, purse seine cod trawl, saithe trawl, pelagic trawl and North sea trawl. Remaining provisions concern bycatch, quota arrangements related to the status of the vessel and transfer of catch or quotas, powers of the Director of Fisheries and penalties.
