Abstract This Decree provides for the Agricultural Activity Guarantee Programme (PROAGRO), established by Law No. 5.969 of 11 December 1973. The objectives of the Agricultural Activity Guarantee Programme (PROAGRO) are: I - exonerate the rural producer from financial obligations related to rural credit operations for funding, the settlement of which is hampered by the occurrence of natural phenomena, pests and diseases that affect goods, herds and plantations; II - indemnify own resources used by the rural producer linked to rural costing, when losses occur due to the events mentioned in the previous item. PROAGRO will fully or partially cover: I - rural funding; II - the own resources applied by the producer in rural funding, linked or not to rural financing.
