Abstract

This Decree establishes mandatory requirements for captive breeding of wild animals and carrying out veterinary arrangements in zoological gardens (zoo nurseries). The following facilities shall be envisaged in zoological gardens (zoo nurseries): (a) cage (open-air cage); (b) animal feed processing facilities; (c) cold storage box; (d) storage facilities; (e) auxiliary facilities; (f) veterinary station; and (g) storage facilities for cleaning agents and disinfectants. Veterinary station shall have one or more quarantine premises. Use of feedboxes and drinking bowls made of wood shall be prohibited. Paddocks (outdoor ranges) shall be provided nearby facilities for keeping animals. Delivery of animal feedstuffs shall be carried out in closed packages bearing the respective labels. Incoming animals shall be accompanied by veterinary certificates, shall be examined by veterinary specialists of zoological garden (zoo nursery)and must pass quarantine.
