Abstract

This Decree is composed of 5 articles. Article 1 excepts the following economic activities from the application of the International Labour Convention No. 148 of 1977: domestic workers and their employers; public services and utilities; security forces; air transport sector; works of maritime sector on board of ships non-registered in Lebanon; and, non-industrial agricultural works non-registered in the Commercial Register in Lebanon. Article 2 excludes temporary from the application of the Convention No. 148 of 1977 small and medium enterprises classified in accordance with Decree No. 5243 of 5 April 2001. Article 3 entrusts the High National Committee for Occupational Safety and Health. established by a decree of concerned and competent authorities with the following competencies: to propose applying texts for the implementation of the aforementioned Convention; to propose the organization of training seminars for persons charged to the control and inspection activities; to lay down and issue a detailed guidelines for criteria and instructions related to the work environment (air pollution, noise vibrations). Article 4 gives the right to the aforementioned Committee to amend and modify the exceptions provided for in articles 1 and 2.
