Abstract This Decree regulates the fishing for Norwegian arctic cod as main catch and bycatch in the areas defined in Act No. 11 of 1925 concerning Svalbard. It provides that Norwegian and Russian commercial fishing vessels may fish quotas of arctic cod within quotas assigned to each country. Vessels from the European Union and Faeroe Islands may fish with an established quota of 16.400 tons. Offences shall be punished in accordance with section 8 and 9 of Act No. 91 of 1976 relating to the Economic Zone of Norway. Assistance in fishing shall be considered as fishing.
