Abstract This Decree regulates the fishing for blue whiting as main catch and bycatch in the areas of the fish protection zone of Svalbard. It prohibits fishing of blue whiting as main catch by Norwegian and foreign commercial fishing vessels. The maximum percentage of bycatch shall be 7 percent of blue whiting. Offences shall be punished in accordance with section 8 and 9 of Act No. 91 of 1976 relating to the Economic Zone of Norway. Assistance in fishing or attempted fishing shall be considered as fishing.
