Abstract This Decree is composed of five articles and one Annex. It adopts the National Strategy on gender Equity (ENIEG), as the national reference framework for the all development patterns present at national level. The country signed the declaration and program of action of the Beijing World Conference held under the theme “Equality, Development and Peace”, it ratified the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (C.E.D.A.W. ) and Conventions 100 and 111 of the International Labor Organization (O.I.T) on equal pay and discrimination in matters of employment and occupation, adopted the Millennium Development Goals, whose objective 3 is devoted to the promotion of equality between the sexes and the empowerment of women.
