Abstract This Decree aims at preventing the transmitting of infectious diseases from harmful animals to men and which thus may endanger public health. The Decree is divided into 5 Chapters: Introductory provisions (I); Duties in relation to harmful animals (II); carrying out of measures to fight harmful animals (III); Approved persons to fight harmful animals (IV); administrative provisions (V). Paragraph 1.2. defines the application sphere of the Decree. It applies to animals kept in captivity both for private and commercial purposes. Paragraph 1.3 gives a definition of “harmful animal”. Chapter II sets out general duties of persons keeping animals with respect to the prevention of spreading of diseases.
