Abstract This Decree prohibits in principal fishing for and landing of Greenland halibut in 2009. However, registered vessels of which the owner and the captain is included in part B of the Fishermen's Register may fish for Greenland halibut in the fishery zone of Jan Mayen and fish with conventional gear with vessels under 28 meters of length in the Norwegian Economic Zone south of 71 30 N° between 25 May and 2 June and between 10 August and 30 August 2009. Each vessel which participates may fish 10, 12 or 14 tons of Greenland halibut, depending upon the size of the vessel. The Decree also deals with bycatch of Greenland halibut.
