Abstract

This Decree sets forth mandatory requirements for safety of foodstuffs related to the use of aromatizing agents (food additives). Producers and distributors of aromatizing agents (food additives) must comply with the following mandatory requirements: (a) absence of toxic substances in the amount that can present risks for human health; (b) contents of arsenic shall not exceed 3mg/kg, contents of lead shall not exceed 10mg/kg, contents of cadmium shall not exceed 1 mg/kg and contents of quicksilver shall not exceed 1 mg/kg; and (c) in food ready for consumption with the use of aromatizing agents (food additives) contents of 3,4 benzopyrene shall not exceed 0,03 mg/kg.
