Abstract This Decree, consisting of 28 articles divided into eight Chapters, approves the basic and operational structure of the Agency for Agrarian Development and Rural Extension (AGRAER). AGRAER, results from the transformation of the Institute for Rural Development and Rural Extension of Mato Grosso do Sul (IDATERRA), as a state autarchy with legal personality created by Law No. 3.345 of 22 December 2006, reorganizing the Basic Structure of the Executive Branch of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, amending Law No. 2.152 of 26 October 2000. AGRAER is a co-responsible body for the promotion of development, linked to the Secretary of State Environment, Economic Development, Production and Family Agriculture (SEMAGRO). AGRAER will operate throughout the territory of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, and may install and maintain Regional and Local Agencies and Advanced Stations. This Decree establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned Agency as well as its Internal Regulations and the legislation applicable to local authorities.
