This prohibition applies to fishing by Norwegian and foreign fishing vessels. The prohibition does not apply to fishing with purse seines and pelagic trawls for herring, sprat, mackerel, horse mackerel and all fishing for small sandeels. Vessels that carry out fishing described above shall have only one type of gear on board. Vessels passing through the areas where fisheries is restricted shall stow gear on deck. In addition to vessels mentioned in Decree No. 387 of 1999, vessels under 24 metres of total length shall be subject to control by satellite tracing when fishing in areas where fishing is restricted.
