The following activities shall be prohibited on the territory of Srednyaya Pripyat biosphere reserve: 1) any activity causing change of the natural landscape and hydrological regime, and soil disturbance; 2) slash-disposal fire and burning out dry vegetation; 3) discharge of sewage and waste disposal in water bodies; 4) clearing of riverside natural growth except for recreational areas; 5) setting up tourist camps; 6) main felling and gradual felling in pineries, oak forests, ash forests and hornbeam forests; 7) main felling in the black alder forests, birch forests and aspen forests with cutting area more than one hundred metres wide with the period of the progressive coupes on contiguous strips less than four years. The proclamation of Srednyaya Pripyat biosphere reserve shall not entail the expropriation of land. The regional executive bodies shall be the managing authority of Srednyaya Pripyat biosphere reserve. Land tenants must observe the regime of protected area and use ecofriendly processes. The damages caused to Srednyaya Pripyat biosphere reserve shall be compensated by the legal and natural persons in conformity with the modalities established by law.
