Abstract This Decree, consisting of 21 articles, creates the Interministerial Committee on Climate Change and Green Growth (CIMV), aiming to establish guidelines, articulate and coordinate the implementation of the country's public actions and policies related to climate change. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of CIMV, entitled to perform the following actions dealing with climate change and green growth: I - define the guidelines for the Brazilian Government's action in policies related to climate change; II - coordinate and guide the policies of federal agencies that have an impact, directly or indirectly, on national emissions and absorptions of greenhouse gases; III - deliberate on the Country's strategies for the elaboration, implementation, financing, monitoring, evaluation and updating of policies, plans and actions related to climate change, among which the successive Nationally Determined Contributions - NDC from Brazil, within the scope of the Paris Agreement, promulgated by Decree No. 9.073, of 5 June 2017, and its updates; IV - monitor the implementation of the NDC presented by the country in the context of the Paris Agreement, and activities of transparency and provision of information, in compliance with the decisions of the UNFCCC; V - propose updates to the National Policy on Climate Change - PNMC; VI - establish guidelines and prepare proposals for economic and financial mechanisms to be adopted to enable the implementation of the strategies that are part of the policies related to climate change, with the purpose of promoting the efficiency and effectiveness of the application of resources and maximizing the benefits and results of the policy; VII - promote coherence between the PNMC and the actions, measures and policies that have an impact, directly or indirectly, on national emissions and absorptions of greenhouse gases and on the country's ability to adapt to the effects of climate change; VIII - disseminate policies, plans and actions related to climate change, including the successive NDCs of Brazil in Brazilian society; IX - establish the specific guidelines of the National Green Growth Program, established by Decree No. 10.846 of 25 October 2021, in addition to the elaboration and governance of the actions necessary for its implementation; and X - edit complementary rules for detailing, implementation and monitoring of actions carried out within the scope of the National Green Growth Program.
