Abstract The national hydrological reserve "Servech" shall be located in the Glubokoe and Dokshitsy districts of the Vitebsk region for the purpose of maintaining the hydrological regime of the lake Servech, river Servech and their inflowing streams, conservation in a natural state of unique natural-vegetative marsh complexes, wild-growing plants and wild animals belonging to species, included in the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus, as well as their places of growth and natural habitats thereof. The following activities shall be prohibited on the territory of hydrological reserve "Servech": (a) drainage and land reclamation; (b) exploration of mineral deposits and mining; (c) waste disposal; (d) effluent waste water discharge; (e) collective gardening and horticulture; (f) industrial and housing construction; (g) timber extraction and logging; (h) building of bonfires; (i) burning out of vegetation; (j) application of plant protection chemicals by aviation method; (k) procurement and harvesting of wild flora; and (l) plowing of land at a distance of 100 meters from the coastline.
