Entry into force notes
This Decree enters into force on the day after its publication.
Abstract

This Decree approves the Statute of the Institute of Biodiversity and Protected Areas (IBAP). The Statute, consisting of 7 Chapters, establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the above mentioned institution, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. It will be entitled to: propose, coordinate and implement the policy and any other activity related to biodiversity and protected areas on the National territory; to promote and preserve the local ecosystems, the biodiversity and the protected areas and promote the socio-economic and sustainable use of their natural resources within the National territory, including water resources in continental and marine areas.
