Abstract

This Decree establishes sanitary and epidemiological requirements for the organizations and operation of water conservation areas, freshwater sources and potable water supply systems. It shall be used as guidelines by state bodies, local self-government, citizens, institutions and bodies carrying out state sanitary, epidemiological and ecological supervision. It shall be applicable to all water supply systems irrespectively of departmental subordination that abstract water either from surface water sources or from groundwater sources. The scope of this Decree shall be to ensure sanitary protection of freshwater sources, water supply systems and water conservation areas against pollution. Sanitary protection shall be ensured through creation of sanitary protection belt.
