Abstract This Decree-Law, composed of 35 articles and 15 Annexes, establishes the water use criteria and quality norms as well as its classification. In particular, it regulates the control and licensing systems, the sanctions regime and the protection measures. The aim is to protect water and to improve water quality for human consumption. The Annexes provide technical information and the required chemical values/parameters for all kinds of water. Full text Portuguese
